Cocoa Price at £4270/T ICE London: Impact on Q2 Grindings
By GOLDEN BEANS · 24 August 2026 · 3 min read

The price of cocoa on the ICE London market is currently £4270 per ton, reflecting a slight decrease of 0.3%. This price fluctuation comes as the cocoa sector prepares for the release of grinding reports for the second quarter. Cocoa grindings, which reflect the demand from processors, are a key indicator of market health and global chocolate consumption. The current price trend could influence processors' decisions as they navigate fluctuating supply costs and potentially variable demand.
In Cameroon, local cocoa prices continue to be influenced by global trends. Data from ONCC indicates that cocoa prices align with international market prices, although challenges related to production and marketing persist. Cameroonian processors must adapt to these fluctuations to maintain their competitiveness in the market.

Regarding derivatives, arabica coffee is currently priced at 1940 FCFA/KG FOB ONCC, showing a significant decrease of 53.62%, while robusta is seeing an increase at 3214 FCFA/KG FOB ONCC, with a rise of 63.56%. These price variations can also impact purchasing and production decisions among market players.
Finally, while EUDR is becoming an increasing concern in the sector, it is essential for market players to stay informed about regulatory requirements while adapting their business strategies. Processors and exporters must ensure compliance with existing standards to ensure the sustainability of their operations.
